Wei is an experienced Data Scientist with a demonstrated history of working in the atmospheric data science industry. With a master’s degree in Statistics from University of California, Irvine, Wei gains in-depth knowledge in data analysis including optimization, statistical modeling, machine learning, database management and analytical skills in R, Python, SQL, MATLAB. She is highly motivated to apply her skill to high-impact weather and meteorological field. 

Wei has been with Atmospheric Data Solutions (ADS) as a data scientist since 2016, and she has hands-on experience of conducting atmospheric research and data mining to ease our society’s transition to a more sustainable future. Her interests include applying machine learning and statistical techniques to transform short-term and medium-term numerical weather model forecasts into intelligent operational guidance and risk management products. During the past 3 years, she participated many projects including weather related outage forecast, load prediction, Santa Ana wind research, live fuel moisture modeling, vegetation management and validation/correction of Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF).
